Courtyard Rain Garden

01Project Introduction

An enclosed urban courtyard that flooded in every downpour. Currently under construction: the paving is out, the soil is breathing again, and the rain cascade is being built this season.

04Design Strategy

Roof water is made visible — a steel runnel feeds a planted cascade that fills sunken infiltration beds. Overflow only reaches the drain after 40 mm of rain.
